Equipment for 3-d shaped (bulk) materials

Amorphous and nanocrystalline bulk materials of millimetre dimensions (bars, toroids, tubes, discs, etc.) are prepared by rapid quenching from the melt using the injection technique, in specially designed in house made equipment.

Technical specifications:

• Vacuum: p ~ 2x10^-4 mbar
• Different shape of prepared bulk materials:

• wires/bars with diameters of 0.5, 0.8, 3, and 6 mm and different lengths
• bars with rectangular sections and millimetre dimensions

• Water cooled mould
• Pushing pressure: ~ 7 atm.
