Rapidly Quenched Magnetic Wires & Glass-Coated Microwires
- Amorphous FeSiB positive magnetostrictive wires and glass-covered micro- and nanowires;
- Amorphous CoSiB negative magnetostrictive wires and glass-covered micro- and nanowires;
- Amorphous CoFeSiB nearly zero magnetostrictive wires and glass-covered micro- and nanowires;
- Nanocrystalline Fe and/or Co-based wires and glass-covered micro- and nanowires;
- Magnetostrictive Fe-Ga polycrystalline microwires;
- Fe-Mn-Si magnetic shape memory microwires;
- Multilayered bi-phase microwires;
- Nd-Fe-B amorphous/nanocrystalline microwires.
The wires and glass-covered micro-and nanowires, prepared by rapid quenching from the melt, present specific physical properties and special effects (Giant Magnetoimpedance - GMI effect, Magnetoinductive effect) for applications such as sensors, transducers and actuators, and for biomedical applications (i.e., antibodies detection based on the GMI effect).
